It was wonderful to gather with so many of you last Sunday to worship and pray together! It was a great time to connect, laugh, eat and pray as part of God's family in Caloundra. It was lovely to take time to not only thank God in worship together, but to see many give thanks to God for what He is doing in their life.

Some of the thankfulness you guys expressed to God during worship.

In praying for guidance in four key areas of our church (rhythms, generosity, elders and future) we not only got to hear each others requests, but many felt to share how God was speaking to them and guiding us as a church.

Let's take note and treasure whatever we sense God's Spirit saying to us.

Treasuring what we hear

As I shared on Sunday, two weeks ago at our discipleship group we read the story of Jesus feeding the 5,000 in the gospel of John (it was 5,000 adult men, so many, many more people!). In it, Jesus begins his miracle moment with a question. This isn't just because he often loved to ask great questions, but because He wanted to hear not just the needs of those around him ("...what do you want?"), but to give them a chance to share thoughts or beliefs that  they previously weren't aware of, or willing to, admit.

When we give people a chance to share their needs, hopes, dreams or fears, the door is open for a new kind of healthy intimacy. It's a moment that we should not only gently and respectfully seek, but sensitively treasure.

Just like hearing from God, it's these moments that not only lead to new intimacy but to transformation of ourselves.

As we seek to open our lives to B.L.E.S.S. others, I am going to join you in aiming to listen well, that God might use us and transform us all.

Cheers and God Bless,

Dan

Baptisms Next Week Sun 21st May

On Sunday 21st of May we will have at least two young men being baptised. They are friends of many of us and a key part of Coastal Youth that we help lead on Friday night. We will meet at the new time of 3pm, start sharing from 330pm and baptise the boys before 4pm! Please come along and celebrate this significant moment!

If you are keen to get baptised with them please hit REPLY now and let me know!

For those who are interested, please check out our page on what baptism's all about. You can watch a short video, read scriptures on baptism and also check out what happens at a baptism.

Prayer

As we shared last week, we want to be asking God to speak to us on a number of topics:

  1. Rhythms: how will we foster our simple rhythms (know, invite, gather)?
  2. Elders: how will we structure our long-term leadership and who will be on the team.
  3. Generosity: how would God have us become the generous individuals and church he's called us to.
  4. Future: how and where will we continue to gather.

Sun 21 May  3pm Baptisms and usual Moffat Gathering
Sun 28 May  3pm Moffat Gathering
