I'm currently reading Exodus and the phrase, "The Lord spoke to Moses..." is repeated over and over and over. I read it multiple times before I realised that I hadn't stopped to think, "Wow, the Creator-God, the Lord of all personally spoke to a dynamic, yet flawed, human named Moses."

One of the most unique aspects to the God of the Bible is that he is not only powerful but personal, speaking to ordinary people like you and I. Jesus taught us that we don't have to be a Moses-like figure to have a personal relationship with God! It's been a joy to learn with other Jesus-followers like yourselves that God truly can speak, direct and guide each of us personally!

Out of this belief and experience, I want to invite you to experience the guidance of our personal God together as a church. The first Christians sought and experienced God's guidance on many occasions, and in our new seasons it's appropriate that we too seek his voice.

So, this Sunday I'd love you to bring a plate to share and join us from the new start time of 300pm as we gather together to both worship God and ask for his guidance for our church. The earlier start avoids packing up when it's cold and dark!

We will be asking God to speak to us in at least four areas:

  1. Rhythms: how will we foster our simple rhythms (know, invite, gather)?
  2. Elders: how will we structure our long-term leadership and who will be on the team?
  3. Generosity: how would God have us become the generous individuals and church he's called us to?
  4. Future: how and where will we continue to gather as God shapes us?

Not only is each on of these items significant, but there are many possible ways to address each one. The goal is not just to find any 'solution', but to hear God's way forward for us as a church. As I often say, we are not in competition with any other church. Rather, we are aiming to continue to seek God's guidance on his way forward for our church in every area.

So join us this Sunday form 300pm as we connect, laugh, eat, take communion, worship and - pray.

Serving at Tunnel Ridge

Below is a message from James who hosted our worship night at Tunnel Ridge. If you have time and passion for their ministry, would you consider reading below and responding with your presence at their next working bee?!

Hello family, friends, and supporters.

James Norman, Manager of Tunnel Ridge Ranch here.

As I was mentioning to my staff the other day, God has been so good to us this year (and other years). This year in particular, as our school camp calendar is nearly full, with 3 available spots for 2 night camps in the whole year. Next year has started to quickly get booked, with Term 1 nearly full already. It has been a very tough few years with COVID etc, but God has been faithful in sustaining us, and now we seem to be at the start of a season of growth and abundant provision. We would very much value your prayers as we steward all that God has entrusted to us … including sharing God’s love with the nearly 3500 young people that will attend camp this year.

We do have a few opportunities for working bees this year. I have created a little online form to keep track of who is available and able to contribute. You can find that form here - https://zfrmz.com/OEeltRQkT931kgIt9mza. Please jump on and set some of the Working Bee dates in your calendar and let us know which you would be interested in. The dates are:

Saturday, May 27; Saturday, July 1; Saturday, Sept 2; Saturday, Sept 30
