"And if I have prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give away all I have, and if I deliver up my body to be burned, but have not love, I gain nothing." - 1 Corinthians 3:2-3

Ahoy Church,

There’s more to life.
You know it. We all sense it.
Jesus confirmed it.

Life is for love.
We were designed for it. We desire it.
Jesus lived it.

Jesus’ life of love is God’s vision for your life.

To be and to become, Fully Alive. Loving God. Loving others as he has loved us.

An invitation to discover your vision, not ours

Our church’s vision is Fully Alive. Not a fully alive church, but a church of fully alive people. Not a corporate vision, but a personal one. Living as God designed you to. Living as Christ calls you to.

Jesus said that he “did not come to be served, but to serve”. Given this, a church’s vision is not to be served, but to serve people. A vision for them, not for us. A vision for how God designed each of us, not how we designed our church.

If this is Jesus’ vision for each of us, then we should avoid placing any distractions or obstacles between followers of Jesus and living out this grand vision for their lives

Some local churches too quickly draw our vision to the world around us. In an effort to meet the needs of the world around us, we overlook the needs within each of us. Rather than leading us to the source of spiritual life, we unintentionally sap spiritual life

You can tell you’re participating in this kind of well-intentioned, but exaggerated vision when a church asks more from you than Jesus does. While Christ makes a whole-of-life request, he offers true life in return. Christians must remember that the church’s job is to offer this life, not take it.

When Jesus first invited those around him to “Come, follow me and I will make you fishers of men”, he gave them two priorities: follow, then fish

Firstly, follow his example and teaching. Become Fully Alive.

Secondly, allow him to show you how to fulfil his mission [fish]. Learn from Jesus how to make disciples by helping other people find and follow Jesus just like you.

  • This is why our church’s vision starts with you and me. Our own encounter with Jesus leads us to transform our world.
  • This is why our structure is simple and personal. Our God dwells in us, not our structures
  • This is why our gatherings focus on encouraging each other to lovingly obey Jesus. It’s in this that he guarantees his presence and our joy.

In time, I’m confident God will call us to many unified acts of service, compassion and generosity. However, he’s made it very clear what he calls us to every day of the week. Every weekend we gather. Every year that he sustains us.

He wants every one of us to know him and to love him.

He wants every one of us to know and to love each other.

It’s in humble obedience to these simple commandments that we unlock not only God’s original design for humanity but his vision for our life, to be Fully Alive in him.

Unsurprisingly, it's only through this humble obedience that we see the world around us also taste of this deep, abiding transformation. God's vision for you and me is the beginning of God's ultimate vision for every tribe, tongue and nation.

Much love, see you Sunday!

Dan

Our Mission

To help people find and follow Jesus.

Our Vision

Fully Alive through faith in Jesus. To see vision come to life, we developed FAM, our Fully Alive Model. Ideally, you can work through FAM with someone else.

Our Rhythms

Get to Know Jesus: how are you getting to know Jesus this week?
Invite people into your life: who can you intentionally open up your life to?
Gather and get involved: who can you connect, listen, share, or pray with this weekend?

Giving Up, In, and Out

Our church follows the same simple pattern of giving that we encourage each other individually: UP, IN, and OUT.

Giving UP

As a church, we give 2.5% to our denomination to support what's happening in churches like ours statewide and show appreciation for all the support they provide. We encourage each follower to consider giving "up" to support their local church - in this case ours :)

Giving IN

We give to personal/family needs within our church from our $5,000 Giving Kitty. Please alert us if you know someone with genuine needs that you're unable to meet out of your own resources.

Giving OUT

This term, we are encouraging our church to give to the family who visit us each year from the country where they share Jesus. We'll give to them as a church, and we encourage you to give to them too.
