“Therefore, as you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in him, rooted and built up in him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving.”
- Colossians 2:6-7

You won't need to pack an umbrella for church this Sunday! 😄

Gather from 3pm at City Life for worship, prayer and share communion as a church family. We'll start communion and worship at 330pm.

When considering Colossians 2:6-7 (above), it's worth asking yourself, "How am I going to ensure that I continue to, 'walk in Christ Jesus, rooted and built up in him and established in the faith'?"

One way Christians have consistently worked towards this over the last 2,000yrs is to treasure Communion, the simple meal gifted to us by Christ himself.

Receiving the bread and wine (or juice) together reminds us that we have "received" Christ by faith alone. We have not earnt forgiveness or a place in his family. This is the reason we can sing, worship and pray with such great thanksgiving - all that we hold most precious has been a gift from God himself!

While participating in this meal doesn't make you a Christian, it's an integral part of being a Christian who continues as they started - in faith. I want to encourage you to take up Christ's invitation to share with us this Sunday.

There's a small phrase in Colossians 2:6-7 that is easy to overlook, "Just as you were taught".

At one point, someone had to teach you not just about Jesus, but that He can not be purchased, earnt or possessed but only received.

I want to leave you with a question to consider, "Who taught you?"

If someone comes to mind, would you hit REPLY and let me know? It'll cement their contribution to your faith in your mind, and honestly, I'd love to know how people in our church came to trust in Jesus!

Also, this will lead me to one more simple, but incredibly significant question for next weeks email.

Cheers, God Bless and see you Sunday!

Tehillah Worship Festival

Tehillah (pronounced teh-heel-ah) is a 3 day worship festival held July 4-6 2025 at Kenilworth Homestead in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland. It features 54 hours of continuous prayer and free flowing worship in a field, with a pop-up camping community. Tehillah runs from 8am Fri 4th to 3pm Sun 6th July.

After hearing about this event for a year or two Martine and I have been planning all year to go check this out for a day this weekend. It's a festival, so carries a cost, but if you're interested in taking out days, not hours, to worship God with other Christians, then give it a crack!

One bonus is that John, married to the wonderful Bessie, is heading up the A/V team for the festival! What a joy to know God's using some of our local Moff's crew to bless thousands as they worship Jesus this weekend.
