"All the earth worships you and sings praises to you; they sing praises to your name. Selah”
Psalm 66:4

There are many examples in the Bible where creation worships God! Birds sing to him, the trees celebrate by "clapping their 'hands'" and "the heavens declare the glory of God".

While we are a part of God's creation, there is a difference with us. We are made in his image and thus look like God in some way. However, we don't automatically give praise to God. In fact, in so many ways, we seek praise for ourselves.

This is where worship, praise, prayer and general "gratitude" become a big deal for us as followers of Jesus and as a church.

When we gather together each week and have our "good or God" time, it's not just a nice way to start the meeting. "Good or God" is a holy moment.

While the birds sing, the waves crash and the wind blows in the trees, we are all given a choice to join in worshipping God with all of creation.

Has God met his promises again this week? Has he answered a prayer, illuminated part of the Bible or revealed himself in some other way? If so, this is your time to worship God by sharing with the people next to you or even the whole church!

Whereas creation is designed to worship God, we are invited to. It's our choice. That's why our worship of God is so special, it's us making a conscious choice to lower ourselves and elevate God.

So, this Sunday, choose to join us to worship God. There'll be plenty of reasons not to! But part of following Jesus is worshipping him together. Choosing to listen and share in a life of grateful worship to him.

As we end 2023, "What are you grateful to God for?"

Cheers and God Bless,

Dan
