Ahoy Open Road!
We'd love if you joined us at Moffat at our new time of 4pm this Sunday!
This Sunday, we'll examine an uncomfortable but transformative teaching of Jesus - denying ourselves.
However, unlike other philosophies and religions, the way Jesus lived this out was not to diminish his Spirit, punish himself or curry favour with his heavenly Father.
Rather, denying our own selves and our ungodly inclinations for our lives makes room for us to choose to follow our divinely created inclinations for a greater life - a Christ life.
Denying yourself is to take up our newly created self. The self that is embodied by Christ. The self that Christ modelled. The self that seeks what Christ seeks.
In short, I encourage you to join us on Sunday and be reminded that submission to Christ is always an invitation to life as it was meant to be. A life that abides in, with and through the person of Christ. A life that is infused with the Holy Spirit, Christ's Spirit, the true Spirit of Christmas.
We'll never be as free as we are when we're submitted to and aligned with him.
