"Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full"

On Sunday I shared how it seems someone in our family gets thirsty every time we get in the van to drive somewhere! I usually offer a frustrated reply, "Guys! We just left a house with unlimited water :)"
Jesus makes it clear that when we come to faith in him, enter a relationship with him and join him in his family, none of us need to spiritually thirst again!
It's my hope that as long as we are walking together behind Christ that we constantly encourage you other to, "drink up", to avoid missing out on any of the spiritual nourishment Jesus offers us through his Holy Spirit.
One primary way God's Holy Spirit speaks to us is through the Bible. He literally makes the words on the page "come alive" to us. Almost daily Martine and I find God uncovers spiritual nuggets to us by his Spirit as we read the Bible.
To encourage each of us towards not just reading the Bible, but to read it together, I want to ask you to do two things:
- Download the YouVersion Bible App. It's FREE and about to hit 1 x BILLION downloads. It's good.
- Select Open Road as "My Church".
- Open the App
- Tap 'More'
- Tap 'My Church'
- Search for 'Open Road' and connect with us!
This means that we can easily read the same Scriptures together on a Sunday. You can also make notes, read the preachers notes and maybe even midweek content or recommended worship songs or resources!
Connecting on the app benefits more than you and I! It helps other locals find our church and people like you and I who are reading the Bible in their neighbourhood!
We will experiment with it and find out what works best.
While I prefer to read a physical, paper Bible each morning, I'm constantly using my laptop or phone to explore the scriptures on the Bible App!
For those of us who don't have time or desire to READ, you can also simply tap the PLAY button and LISTEN to the Bible read in any language anywhere you go!
